CLINTON, Miss. – The Nicholls State University cross-country teams excelled on Friday night against a numerous challengers at the Watson Ford at Choctaw Trails.
Hannah Naquin led all Colonels in the event, finishing 36
th out of 158 competitors, with a time of 25:27.74 in the 6k.
Brice Davis crossed second for Nicholls with a time of 26:56.27.
Rachante Colebrook (31:40.84),
Ieisha Taylor (38:48.60) and
Lakeisha Taylor (41:59.68) rounded out the finishes for the Colonel women.
Peter Alleman paced the Nicholls men, finishing 69
th out of 160 runners on Friday. Alleman turned in a time of 29:04.7 in the 8k.
Jake Lee ran a 31:51.0, and Stefon Naquin finished just off Lee's pace, crossing in 32:54.0.
The Colonels competed against a number of schools including Alcorn State, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Grambling, Jackson State, Jarvis Christian, LeMoyne-Owen, Louisiana College, Louisiana Tech, Loyola-New Orleans, Miles, Millsaps, New Orleans, North Alabama, Rust, Southern, Southwestern Assemblies of God, Texas-Tyler, Texas Wesleyan, Tougaloo, Union (Tenn.), West Alabama, West Florida, Wiley, Xavier-Louisiana and the host Choctaws of Mississippi College.
Nicholls will next travel to Lafayette for the Ragin' Cajun Invitational, hosted by Louisiana-Lafayette, on Oct. 16.
