BATON ROUGE, La. –
Peter Alleman led the Nicholls men's cross-country team and
Hannah Naquin paced the women's squad on Saturday, as the Colonels took on the LSU Invitational.
Nicholls duo of
Callie Scull and Naquin won the UNO Invitational in the opening meet of the season, before the Colonels took a week off from action last weekend.
At LSU, Alleman was the top finisher for Nicholls on the men's side, running an 18:07.91 in the 5k.
Jake Lee was close on Alleman's tail, earning a time of 19:26.86. Alex Shermer (24:20.28) Cole Butler (25:52.80) and Hunter Speer (29:01.68) rounded out the finishes for Nicholls on the day.
Naquin paced the Nicholls women in the 5k, crossing with a time of 21:05.22.
Brice Davis finished just behind Naquin, running a 21:22.68.
Terrian Gauff (24:48.64), and
Rachante Colebrook (24:52.29) rounded out the competitors for the Colonels in the meet.
Nicholls battled LSU, New Orleans, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern, Loyola-New Orleans, Alcorn State and Xavier-Louisiana on Saturday.
Both the men's and women's cross country teams will next head to Lake Charles to compete in the McNeese Stampede on Saturday, Oct. 3.
