Day One Results
MISSOURI CITY, Texas – After two rounds on Monday, the Nicholls State University men's golf team sits in seventh place at the Husky Intercollegiate after carding an even 600 at the Quail Valley Golf Club.
Nicholls opened the tournament with a 302 in the first round and followed up with a 298. The Colonels enter Tuesday's final round trailing New Orleans by just two strokes for fourth place. Houston leads all teams with a 567.
Junior
Josh Fullilove headlined the Colonels for the day, fueled by a personal-best 71 in the opening round. He shot a 74 (+3) on the second 18 for a two-round score of 145, putting him in a tie for 11th in the individual standings.
After finishing third last weekend in the Colonels' opening tournament, freshman
Jack Lee finds himself in the top 15 of the standings after shooting a 146. Lee carded 73s in both rounds to finish the day at 4-over.
Rounding out the competitors were
Tye Smith (79-75—154),
Albert Badosa-Soler (79-76—155) and
Chad Watts-Denyes (84-81—165). Smith is in a tie for 35th, Badosa sits at 38 and Watts-Denyes is tied for 47th.
Nicholls will wrap up the tournament Monday morning with 18 holes, starting at 8:30 a.m.
