SPOKANE, Wash. – The Nicholls State University women's basketball team was held to five points in the first quarter at Gonzaga and the Colonels were never able to recover as they were defeated, 78-46, Saturday evening at the McCarthey Athletic Center.
Nicholls shot 22 percent from the field for the game and made just one field goal in the opening quarter. Gonzaga led 27-5 after the first and was up by as much as 36 in the win.
Hope Pawlowski was the lone Colonel to reach double figures, finishing with 12 points, and freshman
Paige Williams added nine.
Gonzaga had three players score in double digits, led by 14 from Zhane Templeton. Elle Tinkle finished with 13 points and Kiara Kudron had 11.
The Colonels will return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Prairie View A&M. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
