FINAL RESULTS | LIVE STATS SPRING, Texas – Sophomore
Albert Badosa-Soler earned his first career top 10 finish as the Nicholls State University men's golf team shot a 296 in the final round of the Colin Montgomerie –HBU Invitational to finish in sixth place out of 15 teams.
Nicholls completed the 54-hole tournament with an 883, finishing just three strokes behind Oral Roberts which shot a 16-over. Houston ran away with the team crown, shooting 20-under to finish 20 strokes better than second-place Houston Baptist. HBU's Carlos Trevino won the event with a 7-under 209.
Badosa led Nicholls for the tournament with a 1-over 217, placing in a tie for 10th out of a total of 80 golfers. Badosa shot even in the first two rounds and was still at even before bogeying on 18 to finish the day 1-over 73.
Jack Lee also shot 1-over in the final round, marking his third straight round of 73. Lee placed in the top 20 as he tied for 17th at 3-over 219.
Peyton McCulloch had the most birdies on the day as he sank three on the front and two on the back. He shot a 76 on Tuesday to card a three-round score of 224.
Josh Fullilove had the second-best final round for Nicholls, firing a 2-over to finish at 227, and
Chad Watts-Denyes rounded out the squad with a 79 (228).
The Colonels will have next weekend off before returning to action on March 14 in the Grover Paige Classic, hosted by Tennessee-Martin.
