FINAL RESULTS

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Nicholls State University men's golf team shot a 293 in the final round of the Grover Page Classic on Tuesday to place sixth out of 12 teams with a score of 12-over 876.
 
Nicholls entered Tuesday's action in sixth place and remained in the spot as Tennessee Tech and Murray State held off the Colonels by shooting 291 and 292, respectively, to finish fourth and fifth. Arkansas State won the tournament with a three-round score of 846 (-18), followed Southern Illinois (856) and UT Martin (873).
 
Freshman Jack Lee started the day in a tie for second, but despite shooting a 1-under 71 for the round, he slid down to fifth in the individual standings. Lee fired a 211 (-5) for the event, finishing four strokes behind medalist Andrew Huseman of Arkansas State. Huseman led all competitors with 17 birdies in the 54 holes, with Lee right behind at 16. Lee now has three top 5 finishes in his freshman campaign, and has placed 10th or better in five of seven events.
 
Albert Badosa-Soler also carded a 71 on Tuesday and just missed out on his second straight top 10 finish as he placed in a tie for 14th. Badosa shot a 1-over 217 in the classic, which was one stroke short of putting him in a tie for 10th. He also eagled in the final round, giving the Colonels their only one of the tournament.
 
Josh Fullilove shot a 75 to close out the classic, while Peyton McCulloch finished with a 76. Fullilove carded a 223 and McCulloch was two strokes behind at 225. Baker Stevenson shot an 80 in his final round, finishing with a 237 for the tournament.
 
Nicholls will have next weekend off before heading to Baton Rouge on March 29 for a one-day tournament in the Tiger Golf Classic, hosted by LSU.
