Final ResultsBATON ROUGE, La. – The Nicholls State University men's golf team shot rounds of 310 and 308 on Tuesday to finish in third place at the Tiger Golf Classic, hosted by LSU at the University Club.
LSU won the six-team event with a total score of 570, while Southeastern Louisiana finished second at 595. Nicholls carded a two-round score of 618, edging Lamar by five strokes. New Orleans finished with a 633, while Jackson State shot a 694.
Josh Fullilove and
Chad Watts-Denyes paced the Colonels as both finished with a 9-over 153 to tie for 13th place. Fullilove shot a 76 in the first round and followed with a 77, while Watts-Denyes carded a 75 and 78.
Peyton McCulloch also shot a 3-over 75, finishing the day with a 157 to place 18th.
Albert Badosa-Soler was right behind at 80-78—158, and
Jack Lee rounded out the competitors with a 79-81—160.
Three players from LSU, the reigning national champions, tied for first as Zach Wright, Eric Richard and Luis Gagne all shot 1-under 143.
The Colonels will return to action on Monday, April 4 in the Red Wolves Intercollegiate in Jonesboro, Ark.
