Josh Fullilove shot a 1-over 72 in the final round of the ASU Red Wolf Intercollegiate to earn his first career top 10 finish as the Nicholls State University men's golf team carded a 307 to earn sole possession of seventh place after the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
Nicholls entered Tuesday's action in a tie for seventh, but its final three-round score of 890 edged Northern Iowa by two strokes. Host Arkansas State and UT-Martin shared the team title at 852.
Fullilove climbed up 17 spots on the leaderboard after carding his second 1-over for the event, finishing in a tie for 10th at 4-over 217. He drained three birdies on the front and added another on the back. He sank 11 birdies in the three rounds, which was sixth most for the field.
Albert Badosa-Soler and
Chad Watts-Denyes both carded a 224 for the event after shooting 77 and 80 in the final round, respectively.
Peyton McCulloch finished with a 79 for a total score of 227, and
Jack Lee shot a 79 as well for a 233.
UT-Martin's Gavin Shellnet took the individual medal with an 8-under 205.
Nicholls will return to the links on April 18 in the Southland Conference Championships in McKinney, Texas.
