THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University soccer team will look to keep up its great start under new head coach Michael McBride as the Colonels take on instate rival Louisiana Tech at the Nicholls Soccer Complex on Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
Nicholls (3-1) is coming off a lopsided 10-0 win at Grambling last weekend, which was the Colonels' first road win of the year. LA Tech (6-1-1) has had a hot start as well as its 3-0 victory over ULM on Friday was its fourth consecutive win.
 
All-Southland player Jess Coates has the most goals for the Colonels after four matches with five, followed by fellow Aussie Kristy Halmers who has four. Coates' best performance so far in the young season was a hat trick in the Colonels' last home win over Southern.
 
The Lady Techsters are led by Mylene Roy-Ouellet with five goals. Kathryn Sloan is next with three goals and has a team-best four assists.
 
Following Sunday's match, Nicholls will hit the road for the next two with dates at Abilene Christian (Sept. 23) and Incarnate Word (Sept. 25).
