THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University soccer team continues its six-game road stretch when it faces Alcorn Friday at 4 p.m. and UL-Lafayette Sunday at 6 p.m. CT.

The Colonels (2-2) are riding a two-game winning streak after shutting out Grambling State and Jackson State.Sophomore goalkeeper Roosa Hurmerinta and the backline of seniors Nicole Dupin and Katherine Kelly, sophomore Elizabeth Newell and freshman Brittany Bunn were catalysts in the blankings.

Nicholls has five different goal scorers this season as seniors Kirstie Champagne, Mie Elvestad and Emily Werenskiold, junior Haylee Atwell and sophomore Kristy Helmers have all found the back of the net. Champagne and Helmers have also tallied one assist apiece, leading the squad with three points each.

Alcorn State
Friday, Sept. 8 | Jack Sprinks-Marino Casem Stadium | 4 p.m.

The Lady Braves (0-1) dropped their season opener 8-0 to New Mexico State but welcome back nine starters from last season's squad, including 2016 SWAC Freshman of the Year Rita Okoro. Alcorn also sports a new head coach in Junior Noel.

The Lady Braves have a match Thursday against East Texas Baptist.  

UL-Lafayette
Sunday, Sept. 10 | Ragin' Cajuns Soccer Complex | 6 p.m.

The Ragin' Cajuns (2-3) are also riding a two-game winning streak, most recently topping Southland Conference foes Southeastern Louisiana and Northwestern State.

During the stretch, Mackenzie Lee recorded her first two career clean sheets. ULL also received one goal from Una Einarsdottir, Denice Emokpae and Taylor Kennedy.
