CONWAY, Ark. – The Nicholls State University soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to the University of Central Arkansas Friday at the Bill Stephens Track and Soccer Complex.
The Colonels (3-13, 1-8 SLC) recorded 10 shots, including six on goal. Senior
Francesca Curteis fronted the squad with three attempts while senior
Alison Ward and sophomore
Hannah Bodron managed two.
The top-ranked Bears (13-3-1, 8-1 SLC) scored just 26 seconds into the match when Hadley Dickinson followed up a Camille Bassett miss. UCA dominated the second half, outshooting Nicholls 18-2 while scoring three times, one each by Connie Akuwu-Darkoh ('48), Anika Sultan ('67) and Savannah Tidd ('88).
Junior
Roosa Hurmerinta matched Lauren Mercuri with six saves.
The Colonels continue their three-match road stretch at Northwestern State Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
