THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University softball team's Tuesday (April 3) matchup at Southern has been moved up to a 3 p.m. start.
 
The game was initially scheduled for 6 p.m. at Lady Jaguar Field. The Colonel baseball team will also be in Baton Rouge, taking on LSU at 6:30 p.m.
 
Nicholls (23-10) is coming off a series win over Central Arkansas which moved the Colonels into a tie for first place in the Southland. Southern also won its series against Arkansas-Pine Bluff to improve to 11-12 on the year.
 
The Colonels will look to improve their 9-2 road record in the lone meeting with Southern this season. Nicholls has won 29 straight games against SWAC programs, dating back to 2014.

After Tuesday's game, Nicholls returns to Swanner Field for a three-game series against Abilene Christian. Friday's doubleheader is scheduled for 4 p.m., and Saturday's single game is slated for noon.
