HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- The Nicholls State University women's soccer program (3-11-1, 0-8-0 Southland) faltered in the Red & Gray's final road matchup of the season at Sam Houston State (7-7-1, 5-2-1 Southland), dropping a 3-0 contest to the Bearkats at Pritchett Field in Huntsville, Texas.

KEY STORYLINES & STATISTICS
-- A quick opening goal (22nd minute) by the Bearkats gave SHSU an early lead before another at the 34th minute granted a cushion heading into halftime. The second period saw a much more staunch defensive showing by the Colonels, as the Bearkats were unable to find their final score of the match until the 86th minute, slipping a shot just under the crossbar.
-- On the attack, the Red & Gray mustered three total shots on the day with one coming on goal, notching the latter from senior Blaire Laiche.
-- Redshirt junior Jade Gallaher took over between the posts for Nicholls, surrendering three goals in the match while securing 10 total saves.

UP NEXT
With the Colonels' road schedule wrapped up, the Red & Gray shift focus back to Thibodaux for their final home stretch, facing a trio of Southland opponents -- Northwestern State, Central Arkansas & Southeastern Louisiana -- over the next two weekends.
