THIBODAUX, La. -- The Nicholls State University women's soccer program (3-12-1, 0-9-0 Southland) fell in the team's return to their home pitch on Friday afternoon, faltering against in-state rival Northwestern State (9-7-1, 6-2-1 Southland) by 4-0 final margin at the Nicholls Soccer Complex in Thibodaux, La.
KEY STORYLINES & STATISTICS
-- The first half proved a near stalemate for both squads on the attack, as the Lady Demons only managed to get on the board due to a penalty kick midway through the period. Northwestern State expanded on its one-score advantage throughout the second, though, notching three goals -- at the 56th, 64th & 89th minutes -- in order to close out the eventual conference victory.
-- Offensively, the Red & Gray posted five total shots with one coming on goal.

Roosa Hurmerinta battled between the posts across both halves of competition, racking up 12 total saves on the day while giving up four goals.
