THIBODAUX, La. -- The Nicholls State University women's soccer program (3-13-1, 0-10-0 Southland) faltered in Sunday afternoon's Senior Day contest with league foe Central Arkansas (5-11-1, 4-6-0 Southland), falling by a 6-0 mark to the Bears at the Nicholls Soccer Complex in Thibodaux, La.
KEY STORYLINES & STATISTICS
-- Less than three minutes into the contest, the Bears managed to work their way onto the board with a quick goal into the bottom right-side corner of the net. Despite the early push, though, the Red & Gray defense held firm until a well-placed through pass set up UCA's second goal, bolstering the Bears to a 2-0 edge entering halftime. Following the break, though, Central Arkansas opened the flood gates offensively, securing a five-score advantage behind goals in the 50th, 52nd & 57th minutes. The match's final goal came on a penalty kick with just over a minute remaining in the contest.

Jade Gallaher stepped in between the posts after one match out of action, grabbing eight saves with six goals allowed on the day. The Slidell, La. native also managed to shut down an early penalty kick by the Bears, making a short dive left to deflect the shot.
UP NEXT
The Colonels close out their season this upcoming Friday, Nov. 1, hosting rival Southeastern Louisiana at 4 p.m. at the Nicholls Soccer Complex.
