THIBODAUX, La. -
The Nicholls State University baseball team will put its six-game winning streak on the line as the Colonels host in-state rival Tulane at 6 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 26) on Ben Meyer Diamond at Didier Field.

The game will be televised on Cox Sports Television. Outside the viewing area, an online stream will be available on ESPN+.

Since dropping its first game of 2019, Nicholls (6-1) has won its last six contests. The Colonels bounced back from the opening loss to take the series against Southern Illinois, then defeated Alcorn State Wednesday behind a 25-run outburst. For the weekend, Nicholls swept Grambling in a three-game set to improve to 6-1 on the season.

The Colonels are batting .290 as a team so far in 2019, led by Brady Bell's 11 hits and .407 average. He also had a team-high 10 RBIs, sharing the lead with Austin France. Alec Paz and France each have nine hits in the seven games, and the duo is two of the six Colonels to hit a home run. France, Nathan Tribble, and Dane Simon each have two homers for Nicholls.

Parker White is scheduled to start Tuesday against the Green Wave (6-2). He has totaled 10 innings on the mound, posting a 1-0 record with a 0.90 ERA. He has 10 strikeouts and his lone earned run came in the opening series against SIU.

Tulane is coming off a series loss to Ole Miss over the weekend. The Wave started out 2019 with five straight wins, including a pair against Southland member Lamar. They took the middle game of the series against Ole Miss, winning 13-12 on a walk-off home run.

Tulane has crushed the ball to start the year, batting .341 with 13 homers and 19 doubles. Four players are batting .400, led by Kobi Owen's .462 average. He also has a team-best 14 RBIs and is second with three home runs. Kody Hoese leads the squad with four dingers and is batting .395.

Josh Bates will take the mound for the Green Wave. In his only start this season, Bates cruised against Lamar with seven strikeouts in seven innings of work, allowing just an unearned run on one hit.

LACE UP
The Colonels will be wearing special gold laces on their shoes to promote awareness for pediatric cancer.
