EDINBURG, Texas - The Nicholls State University men's tennis team bounced back from a loss in doubles to take down UTRGV, 4-3, Friday afternoon.
In singles, Nicholls (3-7) won the top four courts to win the match.
Nestor Giribet Lopez started the momentum with his controlling two-set victory.
Oleksandr Podgursky put together a great match on No. 1 to give the Colonels a lead. Then,
Tobias Lentz closed out his match at No. 2 before
Dylan Loru clinched the match at 4-1.
The final two matches after the clinched point slipped in tiebreakers for the final 4-3 score.
"It was a competitive day on every court, and the we did a great job of completing the victories on the hotly contested courts for a strong team win," said Assistant Coach
Tavis Rieger.
