MONROE, La. – The Nicholls State University women's beach volleyball team participated in its second event since starting up the program this year, playing in the ULM Bayou Bash.
Nicholls was unable to capture its first win in beach competition, falling 5-0 to ULM in both matches, and dropped 4-1 and 5-0 contests against Texas A&M-Kingsville.
The lone victory came on Friday against Kingsville as
Maddie Lowe and
Katie Jones paired up for a three-set victory against TaylorLynn Noga and Melanie Casteel. The Colonel duo was defeated in the opener, 21-15, but evened up the match with a 22-20 triumph in set 2. For the deciding set, Lowe and Jones edged the Javelins with a 15-13 victory for the point.
UP NEXT
The Colonels will take part in the Battle on the Bayou, hosted by LSU. They will face LSU and Spring Hill College Friday, April 12, before taking on ULM and New Orleans on Saturday.
