THIBODAUX, La. - The Nicholls State University men's tennis team was unable to secure a point in its home match Tuesday against New Mexico State, falling 5-0 at the Colonel Tennis Complex.
Nicholls had won its last two matches, but dropped to 4-7 on the year. New Mexico State upped its record to 9-8.
The Aggies took courts 1 and 3 in doubles, securing the early point for a 1-0 lead. They then went on to win courts 3,5,1, and 6 in singles to clinch the match.
Tobias Lentz was the lone Colonel to win a set against the Aggies, notching a victory in the first against Martin Simecek on Line 2. The match went unfinished at 6-3, 1-6, 2-4 in three sets.

The Colonels open Southland play this weekend on the road at Abilene Christian (March 29) and UIW (March 31).
