SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Nicholls State University men's tennis team traveled to Texas for a pair of Southland Conference matches and came away with 7-0 losses against Abilene Christian and UIW.
The setbacks put Nicholls at 4-10 overall and 0-2 in the SLC.
On Friday against Abilene (15-4, 1-0 SLC), a pair of Colonels were able to come away with a set victory. Dylan Loru nearly won at No. 3 singles, falling 7-6, 6-7, 10-7, while Alvaro Barranco Vilaltella was just short in a 6-4, 1-6, 10-5 loss.
Sunday at UIW, it was Tobias Lentz and Moritz Borges who went three sets. Lentz and Gabriel Evans traded 6-3 decisions before Evans won 6-1, and Borges fell in the third against Caleb Dyer, 6-4, 3-6, 10-7.
UP NEXT
The Colonels head to Baton Rouge on Saturday, April 6, to take on the LSU Tigers. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m.
