THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University softball team will take its three-game winning streak to Baton Rouge Wednesday as the Colonels take on No. 8/5 LSU at Tiger Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The game will air on SEC Network+, with Lyn Rollins and Yvette Girouard set to broadcast.
Nicholls had nine days off after its UIW series was postponed, but the Colonels showed no signs of rust in its series sweep at Abilene Christian. The Red and Gray had a pair of eight-run victories over the Wildcats, with a 5-4 win sandwiched in between.
Senior
Kali Clement led the offense by hitting three home runs, with two coming in the opener. She finished the weekend with six RBIs and was named LSWA Hitter of the Week. On the season, Clement paces the Colonel offense with a .375 batting average, six homers and 16 RBIs.
In the circle,
Megan Landry added two more wins while freshman
Emily Danehower made her first career start, earning the victory as well. Landry is 12-5 on the year with a 1.71 ERA and has 94 strikeouts.
LSU (28-6) has won six straight games after sweeping Georgia over the weekend. For the season, the Tigers are 4-0 against the Southland Conference with wins over Lamar, Northwestern State, and two against Stephen F. Austin.
