NEW ORLEANS, La. - Senior 
Stephanie Barnett continued her hot stretch on the singles court with a pair of wins at No. 1 as the Nicholls State University women's tennis team picked up a 5-0 win over Loyola-New Orleans Tuesday before dropping a 5-2 decision at the University of New Orleans on Wednesday.
Nicholls (4-14, 1-8 SLC) cruised against the Wolf Pack, winning in doubles and taking all four completed matches in singles. Barnett, Lingfend Gu, 
Antonia Roessli and 
Daphne Haverkamp all won in straight sets.
Wednesday against New Orleans, the Colonels won the doubles point again with victories by 
Marina Vigil/Roessli and 
Mariia Kozachok/Haverkamp. But in singles, Barnett was the only players to notch a win for Nicholls.
Barnett had a strong showing in both of the wins, surrendering just one point in each of the matches. Winner of seven of her last eight, Barnett improved to 63-20 in singles for her career.
UP NEXT
The women will wrap up the regular season this weekend with matches at the Colonel Tennis Complex against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Friday) and Lamar (Sunday). Before the match on Sunday, the Colonels will host a fundraising crawfish boil as part of Senior Day.
