BATON ROUGE - The Nicholls State University men's tennis team lost two hard-fought matches against SEC programs on Saturday, falling 4-0 against LSU and Kentucky at the LSU Tennis Complex.
The No. 1 doubles tandem of
Oleksandr Podgursky and
Tobias Lentz had strong showings in both matches. Against LSU, they trailed 5-4 when the doubles point was clinched by the Tigers and they were all squared against Kentucky at 5-5 when the Wildcats secured the point.
In the six completed singles matches, all were decided in straight sets.
Nestor Giribet Lopez nearly pulled off a win in the opening set against LSU at No. 4 singles in a 7-5, 1-1 unfinished bout.
UP NEXT
The Colonels head to New Orleans next week for a pair of matches, starting with Loyola-Orleans on Tuesday (April 9) before playing New Orleans on Wednesday.
