FRISCO, Texas -- The Southland Conference announced the league's 2019 All-Conference baseball selections early Monday afternoon, naming Nicholls State University seniors Jacob Bedevian and Champ Davison to the prestigious honor roll. Bedevian, who served as the Colonels' primary Saturday starter throughout the season, captured a slot on the third-team pitching staff while Davison, the Red & Gray's leading batter at the plate, managed an honorable mention as a utility athlete.

The All-Conference teams are voted upon by the league's head coaches and sports information directors. 

Throughout this season's campaign, Bedevian served as a primary starter in the weekend rotation for the Colonels, pitching a league-high 102.1 total innings while holding down a solid 2.99 ERA (SLC ninth) with 61 strikeouts (SLC 19th). The senior posted two complete games on the year as well, and would have two additional if not for extra-inning games against HBU (pitched 12.0 of 15.0-frame win) and ACU (pitched. 9.0 in 13.0-frame loss).

Meanwhile, Davison consistently made his presence known in the Nicholls batting order, posting a team-best .297 batting average (SLC 34th) with 51 hits, 19 RBIs and three triples. As either the leadoff or two-hole hitter, the senior played his role well, reaching first with a .387 on-base percentage and scoring 29 runs on the season (both third on the team).
