NEW ORLEANS –  Nicholls State University seniors Kali Clement and Megan Landry added another honor to their impressive 2019 campaigns as the duo was named to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) All-Louisiana Softball Team, the organization announced Sunday night.

Landry and Clement, who were also named NFCA All-Region and All-Southland this season, each was named all-state for the second consecutive season. Landry earned first-team honors in back-to-back years as the ace of the Colonel pitching staff while Clement was voted second-team catcher.

Landry, a native of Pierre Part, was one of the top pitchers in the NCAA as she compiled a 27-12 record in the circle with a 1.62 ERA. She ended the season ranked 13th in Division I in victories, 34th in ERA, 15th in shutouts and her walks per seven innings was seventh in the country. Against Louisiana schools, Landry was 10-2 with a 1.54 ERA.

Clement was the top hitter for Nicholls with a .369 batting average, ranking third in the Southland Conference. In her second year with the program, the Thibodaux native belted six home runs and added nine doubles, two triples, and 22 RBIs. Clement was ranked in the top 5 of the Southland in walks (28, slugging (.589) and on-base (.474). She also dominated against Louisiana competition, racking up 17 hits for a .425 batting average in 15 games.
