PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas -- The Nicholls State University women's soccer program (2-1-1, 0-0-0 Southland) dropped a tight match in the team's road opener at Prairie View A&M (1-4-0, 0-0-0 SWAC), faltering by a 2-1 margin to the Lady Panthers on Sunday afternoon in Prairie View, Texas. The loss will serve as a first for the Colonels this season after kicking off the 2019 campaign with a pair of dominant victories and a 1-1 draw.

Elisabet Gunnthorsdottir knocked home her second-ever career goal early just seven minutes into the second half, tying the match at 1-1 less than four minutes after surrendering the initial lead to the Lady Panthers.
