JACKSON, Miss. - The Nicholls State University men's tennis team started its Mississippi road swing with a 4-0 victory against Millsaps on Friday afternoon.
After a slow start in competitive doubles sets, the Colonels (2-2) settled into singles and completed the day with a 4-0 win after
Antoine Martin-Thiriat,
Adam Larsen, and
Omar Hussein finished their matches with focused results, earning three shutouts in straight sets.The top three lines all won their first sets before play was suspended.
The three victorious singles winners also claimed victories in doubles. Martin-Thiriat/Larsen won 6-2 at No. 3 and Hussein/
Pavle Drobnjakovic took the No. 2 court, 6-3.
"We enjoyed the competition today at Millsaps and wish them the best as they turn full swing into their season,"
Tavis Rieger said, Nicholls Tennis assistant coach. "Our Colonels are back on the grind tomorrow against a tough Southern Miss program."
