CONWAY, Ark. - The Nicholls State University women's tennis team ended its weekend road trip with a 7-0 loss at Central Arkansas Sunday on the UCA Tennis Courts.

Still searching for its first league victory, Nicholls (1-10, 0-4 SLC) was unable to secure a point despite some competitive matches in singles. Central Arkansas (10-5, 4-0 SLC) breezed through doubles matches before winning all six singles, with two going to three sets.

Laura Lopez took the first set in her match against Chunxi Xin at No. 1, but fell short in a 2-6, 6-2, 7-5 battle. At No. 6, Mariia Kozachok had an impressive second-set shutout before dropping the match 6-3, 0-6, 6-2.

Nicholls will host a two nonconference matches this week, starting with Richmond on Tuesday. First ball is scheduled for noon.
