THIBODAUX, La. - Facing an early 1-0 deficit, the Nicholls State University soccer team used a goal by Koryn Barrett to even the score against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi before halftime, but the Islanders would push one more into the back of the net after the break to hand the Colonels a 2-1 loss Friday evening at the Nicholls Soccer Complex.

KEY STORYLINES & STATISTICS
-- Barrett's goal (40') was the first of the sophomore's career and the second goal for the Colonels this season. It ended an eight-match scoreless streak for the Red and Gray.
-- Ester Hardardottir earned the assist on Barrett's goal. It was the second of her career and first with the Colonels.
-- Reagan Carter picked up five saves, playing all 90 minutes at goalkeeper.
-- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi received goals by Maggie Murray (24') and Samantha Palomino (62')

UP NEXT
The Colonels will play their final home match of the 2021 campaign, hosting UIW on Sunday at 1 p.m. Before the game, Nicholls will recognize its lone member of the senior class, Maegan Terrell.
