CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Nicholls State University volleyball team was unable to keep its winning streak going Thursday night as the Colonels were swept in three sets against first-place Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 25-16, 25-18, 25-13, at the Dugan Wellness Center.

Nicholls (9-12, 2-7 SLC) could not maintain its impressive defense as of late, with the Islanders (13-9, 9-1 SLC) hitting nearly .400 for the match. The home squad also had seven aces to just one by the Colonels.

KEY STORYLINES & STATISTICS
-- Aaliyah Burras was the lone Colonels to crack double figures in kills, totaling 10 at a strong .474 hitting percentage. She also added a block and two digs.
-- Lilly Bivens finished with 19 assists out of 31 total kills. 
-- Kylie Lockhart paced the defense with 11 digs and added five assists.
-- The Islanders had three players in double figures in kills, led by Montez Uigaese with 12.

Nicholls will conclude its road trip with an 11:30 a.m. match on Saturday against UIW (Oct. 30).
