RUSTON, La. - After a competitive first half at Louisiana Tech, the Nicholls State University women's basketball team allowed a 13-0 run in the third quarter and went on to fall to the Lady Techsters, 77-48, Monday night in the Thomas Assembly Center.

With the loss, Nicholls slipped to 2-3 on the season and 1-19 in the all-time series. LA Tech improved to 3-1.

Chyna Allen scored 14 points in the loss but also had 11 of the Colonels' 29 turnovers. The turnovers led to 29 points for the home team, which totaled 20 steals in the win.

Traya Bruce also scored in double figures with 11 points. Bryanna Washington added nine points and nine rebounds. 

Nicholls never led in the game but kept in close in the first half. Trailing 19-12 after the opening quarter, the Colonels cut it to 24-20 on a jumper by Bruce. LA Tech scored nine of the final 12 points to take a double-digit lead, 33-23, at the break.

Coming out of the intermission, LA Tech went on a 13-0 run to start the third quarter to essentially put the game out of reach. 

LA Tech had four players score in double figures, led by,Keiunna Walker with a game-high 18 points.
