Nicholls Softball announces 1st signing class of Lewis Era

THIBODAUX, La. – After an impressive first National Signing Day for Nicholls State University first-year head softball coach Justin Lewis, the program officially welcomed 10 signees to the Colonel family.
 
Joining the Nicholls softball program are Molly Yoo, Brynn Songy, Claire Sisco, Reagan Heflin, Tal Evans, Erin Krause, Sydni Stevens, Carmella Muccilli, Brianna Mcfaddin and Kalyn Dehart.
 

Molly Yoo - LHP 
Yoo, a Cypress, Texas native, will come to Nicholls from Cypress Ranch High School. She comes in as one of the top left-handed pitchers in the state of Texas.

Molly is a talented pitcher that could be at the front of our rotation for her whole career.

 
 
Kalyn DeHart - RHP 
Dehart, a Houma, Louisiana resident, comes 20 minutes up the road to the university from where her mother graduated. She is one of top pitchers in south Louisiana at powerhouse Vandebilt Catholic.

Kalyn is a local pitcher from Vandebilt. She spins it at an elite level and will immediately help us win games.

 
 
Tal Evans - C
Tal, a Victoria, Texas native, is a standout catcher who recently competed for the Israeli Junior National Team this past summer and looks to one day play for the national squad in the Olympics.

Tal is a leader behind the plate. She has a strong arm and should hit in the middle of our order.

 
 
Claire Sisco - Utility
Sisco, a College Station, Texas resident, joins the program as the highest ranked player by Extra Innings Softball Extra Elite 100, coming in at No. 92.
 
Lewis' Lagniappe
Claire is a really athletic outfielder who has played at a high level. She can do a lot of things for us on offense. She'll swing away with power, slap, bunt and steal bases.

 
 
Brianna Mcfaddin - OF
Mcfaddin, a Keller, Texas native, will come to Nicholls following a 4-6A All-District First Team honor this past season for Keller Central High, where she is looking to repeat her senior season.

Bri is an outfielder that brings some much-needed speed to our offense.

 
Erin Krause - INF
Krause, a Cypress, Texas resident, is another Extra Innings Softball Extra Elite 100 ranked player coming to south Louisiana. She plays multiple positions at a high level.

Erin is another highly accomplished player who we're really excited about. She can play multiple positions on the field and is an accomplished hitter from the left side of the plate.

 
 
Carmella Muccilli - Utility
A native of Santa Cruz, California, Muccilli is a standout outfielder who can play infield as well, with much experience on the California travel ball circuit.

We had to go all the way to northern California for this one! Carmella is an outfielder who has played at a high level with her travel ball organization. We are excited about what she will do for us offensively and defensively.

 
 
Sydni Stevens - SS
Stevens, a Seguin, Texas resident, joins the program after previously being committed to Coach Ron Frost at his former JUCO. She was voted 27-4A District MVP last spring.

Syd is a kid with a real high ceiling. She's a slick fielding middle infielder with some juice in her bat.

 
 
Reagan Heflin - OF
Heflin, a Richmond, Texas resident, is another Lone Star kid who has played at a high level. She was TAPPS DII District 4 First Team last spring.

Reagan is another outfielder with a really smooth swing from the left side. We're excited to add her to the club.

 
 
Lily Robledo - SS
Robledo, a Converse, Texas native, comes to Nicholls as the program's third Extra Innings Softball Extra Elite 100 player.

Lillianna is a shortstop with a great arm. It will be fun to watch her compete every day!

 
Brynne Songy – C
Songy, a native of Prairieville and one of the two Louisiana signees, is also a LSCA 5A All-State member for the 2021 season.

Brynne is another south Louisiana kid who just does everything the right way. She's really smart behind the plate and she just figures out ways to get her barrel on the ball.
