THIBODAUX, La. - The Nicholls State University Men's Tennis team had a 6-1 victory against Alcorn in its home opener on Wed. Feb 10, at the Colonel Tennis Complex.
In his second singles match of the season,
Antoine Martin-Thiriat got another victory; this time over Santiago Rocca, 6-0, 6-0.
Antonio Sasso defeated Kareem Bowe, 6-1. 6-0.
Pavle Drobnjakovic won his match against Luka Andonov, 6-4, 6-1.
In his singles match,
Omar Morsy was 6-2, 6-4 in his victory over Lucas Dini. In the final singles win for the Colonels, Ricardo Machado won against Stojan Stojanovski, 6-3, 6-3.
After
Axel Cronje and Machado fell 6-1 in the No. 1 doubles match, Nicholls'
Piyush Surendra Salekar and Drobnjakovic tied it with a 6-4 victory. Morsy and Sasso secured the point with a 6-2 win.
Surendra Salekar lasted four sets in his loss against David Pata 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 in singles play.
