THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University soccer program dropped a home match against Lamar University, 2-0, Friday afternoon at the Nicholls Soccer Complex.
With the loss, Nicholls remained winless on the year at 0-9 and 0-6 in the Southland. Lamar improved to 6-1 and 5-1 in SLC play.
The Cardinals got on the scoreboard with goals by Esther Okoronkwo and Christine Kitaru within a minute of each other in the first half. Both teams had clean sheets in the final 45 minutes.
Ester Hardardottir and
Gabrielle Champagne both finished with two shots on goal for the Colonels.
Reagan Carter had six saves in the loss.
UP NEXT
The Colonels are back on the pitch Monday, March 15 at home against ULM. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
