THIBODAUX, La. -- Despite closing out a hard-fought first half knotted at zero goals apiece, the Nicholls State University women's soccer program (0-10-0, 0-6-0 SLC) conceded a slew of scores throughout a rough second period in Monday afternoon's non-conference tilt with ULM (4-11-0, 0-9-0 Sun Belt), faltering by a final 4-0 margin to the Warhawks at the Nicholls Soccer Complex.
KEY STORYLINES & STATISTICS
-- The offensive woes continued for the Red & Gray as, despite a few early opportunities, the Colonels proved unable to find the back of the net, finishing with eight total shots, two of which came on goal. Meanwhile, Louisiana-Monroe composed an efficient attack, racking up 15 shots for the contest with 11 requiring goalkeeper attention.

Reagan Carter handled a majority of the work for Nicholls, collecting five saves while surrendering three goals across 66 minutes of action. Fellow freshman
Valeria Vargas Leon stepped in for the final 24 minutes, picking up one save with one goal allowed.

Koryn Barrett proved the workhorse for the Red & Gray attack, notching four shots on the day with one coming on goal.
UP NEXT
The Colonels wrap up their non-conference schedule later this Thursday with a road battle at Louisiana before facing back-to-back matchups at Southland foes Abilene Christian and UIW the following weekend, taking on the Wildcats on Friday, Mar. 26 before heading south to square off against the Cardinals on Sunday, Mar. 28.
