THIBODAUX, La. -- Despite putting up a solid effort throughout, the Nicholls State University volleyball program (1-9, 1-8 SLC) struggled to find an offensive rhythm against league opponent Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (8-4, 6-3 SLC), faltering in straight sets to the Islanders on Thursday evening at Stopher Gym.
KEY STORYLINES & STATISTICS (L 0-3)
-- Coincidentally, the Red & Gray dropped all three sets by the exact same score -- 25-19 -- as TAMU-CC consistently found ways to secure a four- or five-point advantage early in each frame. Notably, the Colonels put together their most impressive run midway through the second, scoring seven points across eight rallies to knot the score at 15 apiece; the Islanders responded with an identical surge -- seven points across eight rallies -- en route to the eventual victory.

Emily Gauthreaux posted the top offensive showing for the Colonels, racking up nine kills for the match along with a team-best two service aces.

Meghan Wozniak and sophomore
Lilly Bivens shouldered the workload in the assists department, combining for 23 on the evening.

Kylie Lockhart, who took over at Libero to open the second set, finished with a squad-high 13 digs while senior

Aaliyah Burras each tacked on two blocks apiece.
