HAMMOND, La. - The Nicholls State University women's tennis team fell 5-2 in its match against Southeastern, Friday afternoon at the SLU Tennis Complex.
In singles competition, both Nuria Martin Lopez and Morgan Forshag were able to secure a point each for the Colonels. Martin Lopez was victorious over her opponent, Flory Bierma, 6-4, 7-5. Forshag won her game against Ariadna Perez, 6-2, 6-2.
Carla Bouygues fell short in her first set against Polina Sleptsova, 2-6 but came back to tie up the game with a 6-4 win. Bouygues lost the final set though, 6-3.
Though the Colonels were unable to get the doubles point, Martin Lopez and Forshag were able to claim a victory on court 2, 6-4.
The Colonels record dropped to 4-11, 1-6 SLC and their next match is against McNeese, Sunday, March 28 in Lake Charles.
