FRISCO, Texas – Nicholls State University had a total of 156 student-athletes make the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, which was announced Thursday by the league office. 
 
Football had the highest number of athletes on the list with 30, followed by baseball's 26. Women's tennis had all six of its athletes make the list while women's soccer and softball were each represented by 21 honorees. 
 
Thirty-seven of the Colonels posted a perfect 4.0 GPA. 
 
In all, a total of 2,502 student-athletes from across the Southland Conference's 16 sports made the honor roll. 
 
"These student-athletes had to work through a season of unknowns and new protocols," Southland Commissioner Tom Burnett said. "Besides excelling in competition, I am proud of how they faced adversity to continue their success in the classroom."
 
To be eligible to be nominated, each nominee must have earned a minimum GPA of 3.00 or higher during the 2020-21 season.
