THIBODAUX, La. - The offensive struggles continued for the Nicholls State University women's soccer team as the Colonels were outshot by Texas A&M-Commerce, 23-7, in a 2-0 loss Sunday afternoon at the Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex. 

Nicholls (2-10-1, 0-6 SLC) allowed a goal in the 29th minute and the Lions (4-6-1, 4-2 SLC) added another early goal in the second half in the 47th. 

The Lions defense did not allow a shot on goal for the match. Shelby Nickal was able to fire off three shots while Avery Mondoux totaled a pair. But since the last home victory against Alcorn, the Red and Gray have been outshot 48-10 in Thibodaux in two conference matches. 

Commerce took the early lead thanks to a goal by Mya Mitchell. The goal in the second half was courtesy of a Melissa Storey header.

Reagan Carter suffered the loss at goalkeeper, allowing both goals and finished with four saves in 50 minutes. Redshirt freshman Megan Cook saw 40  minutes and picked up three saves.

Nicholls will hit the road for its next two contests, starting Friday, Oct. 7 at Houston Christian University. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
