THIBODAUX, La. - Nicholls State University football has revealed its seven-game Southland Conference schedule for the upcoming 2023 season, highlighted by three contests on Manning Field at John L. Guidry Stadium.
Nicholls will take on each of the seven members of the league and flips the road/home slate from the previous season.Â
The Colonels open the Southland slate at McNeese on Sept. 30. The other road trips include Texas A&M-Commerce (Oct. 21), UIW (Nov. 4) and Southeastern (Nov. 16). The first home league contest is set for Oct. 7 against HCU. Nicholls will host Northwestern State (Oct. 14) the following weekend and the home finale will be on Nov. 11 against Lamar.Â
Nicholls finished last season with a 3-3 mark in conference, giving the program a .500 or better record in the Southland for the seventh consecutive campaign. The Colonels earned victories at home against McNeese and Texas A&M-Commerce this past season and won on the road at HCU. The Red and Gray are set to make their first trip to Commerce.
The full 11-game schedule will be released in the spring.
