ELMWOOD, La. - Following a season off of competition, the Nicholls State University beach volleyball team made its season debut over the weekend with four matches in the Green Wave Invitational. The tournament was hosted by Tulane at the White Sands Volleyball Courts.

Nicholls came up empty in all four matches, losing 5-0 to nationally-ranked LSU and Georgia State, Spring Hill College, and Tulane. 

Despite not picking up a point, Kate Hoerdemann and Katie Jones claimed a set against Tulane in Saturday's finale. Playing on Court 4, the duo was outlasted 21-15, 14-21, 15-10.

UP NEXT
The beach team heads to Monroe, Louisiana for the ULM Warhawk Invitational this weekend. The Colonels will face Stephen F. Austin, HBU, and host ULM.
