KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Nicholls State University guard has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division I All-District Team, landing on second team for District 22.
Gordon, who garnered Southland Conference Player of the Year and repeated as a first-team selection, averaged 21.6 points during the regular season to finish ninth in the NCAA in scoring. Gordon scored 20+ points in 18 games this season, highlighted by four 30-point efforts.Â
A native of Tunica, Mississippi, Gordon earned a league-record seven player of the weeks this season including after his career-high 36 points in the Colonels' winner-take-all finale against New Orleans. In the five contests against Big 10/Big XII/Pac 12 opponents, Gordon averaged 22.6 points and made 23 3-pointers at a 44.2 percent clip.
Gordon helped the Colonels to a second straight outright Southland regular season title and their second 20-win season in the last three years. Nicholls also earned the first NIT bid in program history, taking on top-seeded SMU on Wednesday night.Â
