HATTIESBURG, Miss. - After falling in a close doubles decision, the Nicholls State University men's tennis team picked up a pair of wins in singles but was unable to defeat Southern Miss in a 5-2 setback Wednesday afternoon at the Southern Miss Tennis Complex.

Antonio Sasso dominated on Court 3 in doubles with a 6-1 win, but after Southern Miss tied it with a win at No. 2,Â

Nicola Wehrle were outlasted in a tiebreaker at No. 1.
In singles, Salekar dropped Court 3 before
Pavle Drobnjakovic andÂ
Antoine Martin-Thiriat briefly tied it up at 2-2 with wins at 5 and 4, respectively. Drobnjakovic earned a 6-1, 6-4 victory Alexander Gima and playing in just his second singles match of the season, Martin-Thiriat won 6-3, 6-4 over Antoine Audrain.
But the Colonels came up short in the rest of the matches as the Golden Eagles won the final three in straight sets.Â
