LORMAN, Miss. - Despite dropping the doubles point, the Nicholls State University men's tennis team put together a strong showing with five wins in singles as the Colonels swept the season series against Alcorn with a 5-2 victory on Monday afternoon.
Nicholls (9-9) dominated the bottom half of the singles lineup by winning all three in straight sets.

Nicola Wehrle followed with wins at 4 and 5, respectively.
Omar Morsy secured the team victory with another straight-set win, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) over David Pata.Â
Piyush Surendra Salekar wrapped up the scoring for Nicholls with a hard-fought 5-7, 6-4, 11-9 win.Â
