Gossen, Hebert named All-Southland Third Team

FRISCO, Texas - Nicholls State University softball's Melise Gossen and Kennedy Hebert have been named to the All-Southland Third Team, as the league office announced Monday its 2022 all-conference teams and awards.

Gossen garnered third-team utility after leading the Colonels with a .289 batting average, splitting time at first and third base. She racked up 15 doubles on the season which was tied for second most in the Southland. A native of Rayne, Louisiana, Gossen totaled 41 hits including two home runs.

Hebert was selected as a third-team outfielder after batting .246 with seven doubles, two homers and 15 RBIs. The Morgan City, Louisiana native finished the regular season with 32 hits and led the Colonels with four three-hit games. Both of her home runs came in the same outing at UIW. 

ON DECK
Nicholls will open the Southland Conference Tournament on Tuesday, May 10 against host Southeastern. First pitch at North Oak Park is scheduled for 5 p.m.
