PHOENIX, Ariz. – Senior guard
Traya Bruce scored a season-best 14 points in the Nicholls State women's basketball team 63-40 loss to Grand Canyon University in the GCU Classic on Saturday afternoon.
Bruce hit five of her six field goal attempts from the field including an impressive four of five from beyond the arc.

Kyla Hamilton and freshman guard
Britiya Curtis finished with 8 points apiece. The duo also combined for seven rebounds.
Junior forward
Deonna Brister had seven points and a team-high six rebounds.
Neither team shot well in the first half with the Colonels hitting six field goals compared to eight for the Antelopes. GCU led 27-19 at the intermission.
In the second half GCU's offense found their footing and shot 57.14% in the third and 50% in the fourth. The Antelopes also hit five of six shots from long range in the third quarter to create some distance from the Colonels.

The Red & Gray (4-3) will close out the month of November with a home game against Dillard on Tuesday, Nov. 28 and a road game at Alcorn on Thursday, Nov. 30.
