BEAUMONT, Texas – The Nicholls State University volleyball team fell to Lamar University in four sets inside the Montage Center on Saturday afternoon.
In the first set, the Colonels were unable to answer a five point and a three-point scoring runs from the Cardinals and dropped the set, 25-20.
Lamar began the second set jumping out to a 10-3 advantage. The Colonels fought back and got as close as five, but the deficit was too much, and they lost the set 25-15
In the third frame, the Colonels got out to their best start day piecing together a four-point surge to take a 11-6 lead early on. The Cardinals fought to get as close as three, but the Colonels shut the door and won the set 25-20.
The fourth set was a back-and-forth affair until a 6-1 run by the Cardinals gave them an 18-14 lead. The Colonels fought back but fell 25-20.

Gracie Campbell lead the offense with 11 kills and was one dig short from her seventh double-double of the year.

Autumn Perry tallied 10 kills and hit .320 for the match, while her classmate
Deniz Akgul registered nine kills and posted a team best .368.

Paris Dixon combined for 10 kills.
