THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University women's basketball team had five double figure scorers in the 82-65 victory over North American University inside Stopher Gym on Monday night.
The Red & Gray offense was spearheaded by sophomore forward
Lexi Alexander who recorded the ninth double-double of her career with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Junior forward
Deonna Brister five of eight field goals, including two from long range to add 13 points, while her classmate
Daelyn Craig finished with 12 points and eight boards.
Freshman guard
Britiya Curtis stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, six rebounds, five assists, and a team high 4 steals. Senior guard
Ashley Malone added 10 points and four rebounds.

Kyla Hamilton also had all around games as they combined for 14 points, 10 rebounds, and nine dimes.
Overall, the game was fast paced but the Colonels won the turnover battle 23-16 and out rebounded the Stallions by five (47-42). The Red & Gray scored 32 points off turnovers, dominated the paint with 44 points, and got 24 points from the bench.
The win is the first victory for head coach
Justin Payne.
