THIBODAUX, La. - The Nicholls State University softball team's weekend series at McNeese has been adjusted due to forecasted weather conditions.

The teams will open the series with a 5 p.m. doubleheader on Friday before a single-game finale on Saturday at 1 p.m. All three games are scheduled to air on ESPN+.

Nicholls enters the weekend in third place in the Southland Conference standings at 9-6 after winning four of their five league series. McNeese sits atop the standings with an impressive 11-1 Southland record.

The Cowgirls swept the three-game set in Thibodaux last year, outscoring the Colonels 13-1. McNeese has won the last four meetings but Nicholls came away with a series victory in its last trip to Lake Charles in 2019.
