THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University women's soccer team was beaten 5-0 by the University of South Alabama in the Lester Bimah Battle on the Bayou at Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex on Thursday night.
The Colonels battled but were outshot by the Jaguars 28-3. Junior midfielder
Lauren Andre had the only shot on goal for the Red & Gray, while her classmates
Kinga Koronkiewicz and
Peyton Bastine took one shot each.
Out of the 17 shots USA took on target, sophomore goalkeeper
Elizabeth Zepeda tallied 11 saves in the second start of her career.
The Jaguars' Amber Fortenberry scored their first goal at the 7:29 mark, followed by a goal by Monique Gray (22:34), Jasmine Greene (54:09), Kailey Littleford (70:09), and Irene Campo (71:29).
